Some file conversions rely on media codecs, browser features, or tools on your device. This notice explains how those technologies can carry their own terms. It is informational only and is not legal advice.
Tools used for conversion
Some conversions use browser media features, operating-system media tools, or installed conversion tools. Those tools can have license terms that are separate from Filu.
Codec patents
Some media codecs and containers, including H.264/AVC, HEVC/H.265, AAC, MPEG-2, and related technologies, may be covered by patent or licensing programs. Commercial encoding, decoding, distribution, or device use may require separate rights.
Open codecs
Open or royalty-free technologies such as AV1, VP9, Opus, Vorbis, FLAC, WebP, and PNG are generally designed to reduce licensing friction, but you should still review the terms that apply to your use case.
